Secret Love

I was looking through some old files and found a poem my daughter wrote when she was 13.  Her teacher had submitted the poem for her and it was going to be published.  I went on line did some checking, and here it is------

Meet my little papaya

To arrive early September. My first grandson and first grandchild.

Mama Bears out of hibernation

    I think everyone knows this about me, but in case you haven't had the privilege of seeing mama in action, let me share.

    Many times I would find out about what I thought were injustices to my children from other-parents or their friends. Mostly, because I'm a teacher and they knew I would back the teacher (truly this rarely happened, the kids getting into trouble, not the backing the teacher part. That happened about 97% of the time. Oh, but that other 3%, well that was different).
The second reason was because the kids wanted to avoid the appearance of "MAMA BEAR".

It's okay you can call me stupid!

Sometimes we just don’t think.

    As those of you that live in our great state of Louisiana may or may not know, it’s getting extremely close to the most anticipated time of the school year. 

"Don't let it slip on by!"

    In just under thirty days my baby, the youngest of three, will be 19 years old. It is true what they say, you blink and next thing you know the kids are grown adults.

3 Positives

Today's Three Positives:
1)  I survived the day, and did what I planned.
2)  I made a break through with a student that I thought would NEVER happen.
3)  All my girls that tried out for high school cheer, made it.  I am so proud of them.
